Sportsbook Details

Duel isn’t trying to be another copy-and-paste crypto casino. Founded by high-stakes poker player Ossi Ketola, it has built its reputation around a simple idea: give players a better deal.

That philosophy carries over to the sportsbook, where Duel offers some of the lowest betting margins we’ve seen in crypto gambling. That’s a big claim, so we’re not just taking their word for it. Later in this review, we’ll put Duel’s odds side-by-side with several major crypto sportsbooks and see how much difference there really is.

Low margins are great, but they don’t automatically make a great sportsbook. We’ve also looked at the markets, live betting, crypto payments, withdrawals and the overall experience to find out whether Duel is actually worth using.

Signing Up at Duel

Getting started at Duel is quick, with three ways to create an account. You can register directly with a username and password or connect an existing Google or Steam account.

We chose Google for simplicity, and the process was about as painless as it gets. Rather than filling out a lengthy registration form, we connected our Google account and were into Duel within moments.

For those who prefer not to link another account, the standard registration option is there, while Steam is a nice addition given Duel founder Ossi Ketola’s history in the Counter-Strike scene.

Overall, there isn’t much to complain about here. Registration is quick, uncomplicated and gets you into the sportsbook without making the signup process feel like a chore.

Depositing at Duel

Depositing at Duel couldn’t have been much simpler. We sent 20 USDT from our Kraken account using the Polygon network, and the funds appeared in our Duel balance in less than a minute.

Kraken charged us 1 USDT to make the withdrawal, although this is a wallet/exchange fee rather than a fee charged by Duel. Your costs may be higher or lower depending on the wallet, exchange and network you use. Our Duel account was credited with $19.97.

There’s plenty of choice when it comes to crypto. Duel supports more than 15 cryptocurrencies, ranging from Bitcoin and Ethereum to stablecoins such as USDT and USDC. Dogecoin is also available, but beyond DOGE you won’t find the long list of memecoins offered by some crypto casinos.

Crypto isn’t the only option. Duel currently offers more than 27 cash payment options for players who aren’t comfortable depositing with cryptocurrency. These include familiar methods such as Visa, Mastercard, Apple Pay and Google Pay. You can also purchase and redeem gift cards through Pulse.

For our test, the important part was simple: sending USDT over Polygon was straightforward, and our deposit was available to use in under a minute.

Sportsbook Experience

Duel’s sportsbook is powered by BETBY, so the interface may already feel familiar if you’ve used other crypto sportsbooks such as Roobet, BC.GAME or 500 Casino. What separates Duel is its reduced house margin. Much like its approach to casino games, Duel puts a lot of emphasis on returning more value to players, and in the sportsbook that means offering more competitive odds.

As you’d expect from a BETBY-powered sportsbook, navigation is extremely straightforward. The top bar provides quick access to live events, your favourite markets and My Bets. Popular sports such as football, basketball and tennis are displayed prominently, while clicking the dropdown arrow highlighted in our screenshot opens the full selection of available sports.

For our first live betting test, we placed a $5 bet on Getafe CF B while they were leading Rayo Vallecano B 1-0 in the second half of a pre-season friendly. The whole process was simple: select the odds, enter your stake in the betslip and confirm the bet.

Once accepted, the wager immediately appeared under My Bets, where we could follow its status and were also offered a live cash out.

Interestingly, despite Getafe still leading 1-0, our initial cash-out offer was $4.67 against our $5 stake. That’s perfectly normal. Being on the winning side at that moment doesn’t automatically mean you’ll be offered a profitable cash out; enough time or favourable movement in the odds generally needs to occur before the offer exceeds your original stake.

As this was a pre-season friendly between two reserve sides, the live market selection was understandably limited. We still had access to match result, double chance, both teams to score, handicaps and several goal markets. We’ll return during bigger competitive fixtures and update this section to see how much deeper Duel’s in-play offering becomes.

Sports Available at Duel

Duel has an extensive range of sports, covering everything you’d expect, including football, basketball, tennis, American football, baseball, ice hockey, cricket, boxing, MMA and darts. Dig deeper, and you’ll also find more niche options including snooker, cycling, rugby, volleyball and water polo.

Finding events is straightforward. Select football, for example, and you can jump directly into competitions such as the FA Cup, Premier League, Champions League, La Liga and Serie A. You can also filter events by Popular, Live, Upcoming or Outrights, rather than scrolling through hundreds of matches.

Esports also has a strong presence, with Counter-Strike, Dota 2, League of Legends and Valorant among the titles available.

Overall, there’s plenty of depth here. More importantly, BETBY’s layout does a good job of making a very large sportsbook feel easy to navigate.

Esports Betting at Duel

Esports gets much more attention at Duel than it does at many traditional sportsbooks. At the time of our testing, the selection included Counter-Strike 2, Dota 2, League of Legends, Valorant, Rainbow Six, PUBG, Rocket League and several competitive sports titles including FC 26 and NBA 2K26.

The selection changes with the esports calendar, so other games become available when relevant competitions are taking place, including titles such as Warcraft III. This makes more sense than filling the sportsbook with games that have no active tournaments to bet on.

Live esports is particularly well integrated. Many events can be bet on while they’re being played, with Duel displaying the current map, score and available in-play odds alongside the action. Selected events also include a live stream directly inside the sportsbook. During our testing, for example, we could watch a Counter-Strike 2 match while following the score and betting on the live market from the same screen.

Upcoming matches are displayed directly underneath the live events, making it easy to move between what’s happening now and what’s coming next.

Given Duel founder Ossi Ketola’s background in Counter-Strike, it’s perhaps no surprise that esports feels like a genuine part of the sportsbook rather than something added simply to tick a box.

Racing at Duel

It is surprisingly easy to overlook the racing section at Duel, particularly because it sits separately from the main sportsbook markets. Duel uses BETBY for its sportsbook, and racing events can be found by opening the All Sports menu and selecting Racing rather than Sports or Esports.

Once inside, Duel divides its racing coverage into three categories: Horse Racing, Greyhound Racing and Harness Racing. The interface also makes it easy to browse Today, Tomorrow and Upcoming events, while completed races can be checked through the Results section.

Individual race pages provide the essential information you would expect before placing a bet, including the runners, odds and available race details. Depending on the event, additional information such as jockey and trainer details is also displayed.

The selection of racing markets is more limited than you would find at a traditional bookmaker built heavily around horse racing. Straightforward options such as Win, Top 2 and Place are available, but bettors looking for traditional racing multiples such as Lucky 15s will not find the same depth of specialist betting options.

You can, however, add selections from different races to a parlay. This gives Duel users a way to combine multiple racing picks into a single wager, even though the overall racing product is considerably simpler than the dedicated racing sections offered by traditional sportsbooks.

For us, racing feels more like a useful addition to Duel’s main sportsbook than a major feature in its own right. The inclusion of horse, greyhound and harness racing adds worthwhile variety, but players primarily interested in specialist racing bets will find fewer options than they would with a traditional racing-focused bookmaker.

Bonuses and Rewards

Duel takes a different approach to bonuses than many crypto sportsbooks. Rather than loading the site with large headline bonuses tied to wagering requirements, the focus is on returning value through the underlying product.

On the casino side, Duel offers rakeback on eligible games, which fits with its wider aim of pushing returns towards a 100% RTP model on many of its games. The sportsbook works differently: there is currently no sportsbook rakeback. Instead, Duel’s proposition is that players receive value through its reduced betting margins and, as a result, odds that are often better than those offered by competing sportsbooks.

We think that’s a much cleaner proposition than advertising a large sportsbook bonus and then attaching restrictive wagering requirements to it. Later in this review, we’ll put Duel’s odds to the test against several major competitors to see how much difference those reduced margins actually make.

Duel $100K Weekly Leaderboard

There is still something extra for players putting serious volume through the sportsbook. At the time of our review, Duel was running a $100,000 weekly betting leaderboard, with the top 50 players receiving cash prizes.

The concept is refreshingly simple: qualifying turnover equals leaderboard points. Bet $100 and, provided the bet qualifies and settles during the promotion, you earn 100 points.

For the leaderboard we reviewed, the main conditions were:

  • Minimum stake of $1
  • Minimum odds of 1.30
  • Singles, combos and system bets qualify
  • All sports are eligible
  • Only real-money bets count
  • Bets must be placed and settled during the weekly promotional period
  • Cashed-out, cancelled, void, refunded and bonus bets don’t count

First place receives $25,000, second gets $10,000 and third receives $7,000, with prizes continuing all the way down to $100 for 50th place. Importantly, these rewards are credited as real cash rather than another bonus that needs to be wagered.

The leaderboard is clearly aimed more at high-volume bettors than occasional players. Because points are based directly on turnover, someone placing a few small bets realistically is not going to compete with the biggest bettors on the site. For serious sportsbook players, though, it’s a meaningful additional reward on top of Duel’s low-margin approach.

Mobile Experience

Duel currently works through your mobile browser rather than a dedicated iOS or Android app. That may sound like a drawback at first, but BETBY’s sportsbook is built mobile-first and is designed to resize cleanly across different screen sizes.

The mobile version keeps the same core sportsbook experience as desktop, so you can move between sports, live events, My Bets and the bet slip without learning a second layout. Independent testing of Duel’s mobile site has also found the browser version quick and easy to use on both Android and iOS.

For us, the lack of a dedicated app is not a major problem if the browser version does the job well. In some ways, it keeps things simpler, with no download, no updates and no need to leave the site to install anything. We would still like to see an official app added in the future, but for now mobile betting at Duel is handled through a responsive version of the main website.

Customer Support

Customer support is another area where Duel impressed us. Click the headset icon in the bottom-right corner and you can search the help centre, view previous conversations or select “Send us a message” to speak directly with support.

We chose the live message option and received our first response in under 15 seconds.

Rather than giving them an easy question, we asked whether we could see the previous week’s $100K Sportsbook Leaderboard results, as we wanted an idea of the turnover needed to rank. Within around five minutes, the agent had tracked down the results and sent us a screenshot.

We then asked about maximum football bet sizes. Duel doesn’t use one maximum across every selection; instead, add a bet to your betslip and use the “MAX” option to see the limit for that particular bet. We were also told that larger bettors can contact support about potentially increasing limits on top-tier pre-match events.

Following their advice, we tested Arsenal vs Manchester City. At odds of 2.64, our maximum stake was $3,699.12, while a much higher-priced 10.50 selection had a maximum of $319.18. The higher potential payout coming with a lower maximum makes sense, although limits can differ between events and markets.

Before leaving, we asked for a copy of the conversation by email. It arrived within minutes as a PDF containing the full chat history, although screenshots shared during the conversation weren’t included. The conversation also remained accessible through Duel’s Messages section.

Overall, we were very impressed. The initial response took seconds, our unusual question was properly investigated, and we received useful answers rather than generic scripted responses. Based on our test, customer support is one of the stronger parts of the Duel experience.

We tested Duel’s support with a question that required a little digging. Within minutes, the agent found the previous week’s $100K Leaderboard results and sent them directly to us.

Withdrawing From Duel

After our sportsbook bet won, we decided to withdraw our original $20 deposit and see how smoothly the process worked in the other direction.

Duel gave us several networks to choose from for our USDT withdrawal. To keep things consistent with our deposit, we selected Polygon, entered our wallet address, and requested the full $20.

Within seconds, Duel confirmed that the withdrawal had been processed. From there, it was simply a case of waiting for the blockchain to do its thing.

We didn’t have to wait long. The full $20 arrived in our wallet within a minute, with Duel charging no withdrawal fee.

Combined with our earlier deposit, where the funds also arrived in under a minute, our experience moving crypto in and out of Duel couldn’t have been easier.

Safety, Licensing and Ownership

Duel is owned and operated by Immortal Snail LLC, registration number L22982. The site states that it is licensed and regulated by the Government of the Autonomous Island of Anjouan, Union of Comoros, under licence number ALSI-202411026-FI1.

That makes Duel an offshore-regulated sportsbook rather than one licensed by authorities such as the UK Gambling Commission. Players should understand that distinction before depositing, particularly when it comes to local consumer protections and dispute resolution.

Duel also publishes a KYC policy. Its approach is risk-based, with different levels of due diligence checks depending on the customer, transaction and level of risk. In practice, that means verification may not be required for every player at signup, but Duel can request additional checks when necessary.

Responsible gambling tools are also available, including self-exclusion for players who want to block access to their account. Duel’s terms require users to be at least 18 and also old enough to gamble legally within their own jurisdiction.

From our own testing, we were able to register, deposit USDT, place sportsbook bets and withdraw our original $20 without being asked to complete additional verification. Our withdrawal was processed within seconds on Duel’s side and reached our wallet around a minute later. That was our experience with a relatively small transaction and shouldn’t be taken to mean every player or larger withdrawal will follow exactly the same process.

One point we strongly recommend checking for yourself is regional availability. Gambling laws and Duel’s accepted jurisdictions can change, and access to the website does not necessarily mean you are legally permitted to use it. Before registering or depositing, check Duel’s current terms and the gambling laws that apply where you live.

For us, the important takeaway is that Duel is transparent about the company operating the site and the licence it holds, but it remains an offshore sportsbook. Players should judge whether that level of regulation is suitable for them rather than treating all gambling licences as equal.

Our Verdict – Labby Rating: 4.25/5

Duel has made a very strong first impression on us. The sportsbook is easy to use, covers a huge range of sports and esports, and its reduced-margin approach means players can get more value through better odds rather than relying solely on bonuses.

Our hands-on testing backed that up. Our crypto deposit arrived in under a minute, customer support responded within seconds and went out of their way to answer our questions, while our $20 withdrawal was processed almost immediately and arrived in full with no fee charged by Duel.

There are still areas we’d like to see improved. The lack of a dedicated mobile app is one, while we’re also not completely sold on Duel’s approach to promotions. We understand the philosophy of giving players value through better odds rather than traditional bonuses, but we think good promotions bring extra value and a bit of fun to both sportsbooks and casinos. The $100K weekly leaderboard is a welcome exception, although its turnover-based format naturally favours higher-volume bettors.

The Anjouan licence also won’t offer the level of regulatory protection some players are looking for, and that’s something each player needs to weigh up for themselves.

For us, the positives comfortably outweigh the drawbacks. Duel is particularly appealing to crypto bettors who value strong odds, fast payments and a clean betting experience. Based on everything we’ve tested so far, Duel earns a Labby Rating of 4.25/5 and our Labby Approved stamp.

Our testing doesn’t end here. We’ll continue using Duel and update this review as we compare its odds against major competitors, test live betting during bigger sporting events and see how the sportsbook develops over time.
